The USA hosts the majority of matches across 11 venues spread from coast to coast. Most are purpose-built NFL stadiums with capacities well above 65,000. MetLife Stadium (New York/New Jersey), home of the final, holds 82,500.
๐จ๐ฆ Canada โ 2 Venues
Canada's two venues are Toronto in the east and Vancouver in the west. BMO Field is undergoing expansion works; BC Place in Vancouver features a retractable roof.
๐ฒ๐ฝ Mexico โ 3 Venues
Mexico becomes the first country to host three World Cups. The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City โ which hosted the 1970 and 1986 finals โ will stage the opening match.
๐บ๏ธ The Three Host-Nation Flags
The USA ๐บ๐ธ Stars and Stripes features 50 stars (one per state) and 13 stripes (the original colonies). Canada ๐จ๐ฆ's Maple Leaf flag, adopted in 1965, shows a stylised sugar maple leaf. Mexico ๐ฒ๐ฝ uses a green-white-red tricolour with an Aztec-legend coat of arms at the centre.
